GEN-3 & GEN-4 ULTRASPAN
Ultraspan is a state-of-the-art nylon laminated to neoprene
The Gen-3 Ultraspan offers 300% elasticity to the suit, 350% for the Gen-4 Ultraspan.
Advantages for the surfer : + warmth, + comfort, + flexibility.
THERMAL MESH SKIN
The Thermal Mesh works in the same way as a solar panel absorbs heat from the sun. Minimal water absorption reduces wind chill. These combined elements add better thermal properties to West suits.
Benefits for the surfer : increased warmth, lighter suit due to less water absorption.
S Foam is a closed cell neoprene which is 20% lighter than classic foam, it is made from limestone. Which offers superior elasticity compared to other neoprenes.
Advantages for the surfer : Lighter and warmer wetsuit.
Compared to other Neoprene, K (Knee) foams at a much more efficient density. West uses K Mousse for all knee pads because of its durability and high strength. There are 3 types of K-Mousse: latex, plasma and P.U.
Liquid Seams are flexible over liquid tape applied to GBS seams which provides a perfect airtight seal.
Advantage for the surfer : more warmth and more flexibility in cold water.
The Melco WEST tape is applied to all sensitive points of the suit, at the seams and the zip. These reinforcements allow better longevity to the suits.
Benefits for the surfer : more reliable and durable wetsuit.
The sewn/glued seams, generally called GBS seams, are airtight. West uses Japanese glue which ensures superior bonding quality.
Advantage for the surfer : a quality hermetic seam which helps prevent water from entering, keeping the surfer warm.
West wetsuits have an adjustable closure system at the neck which covers the Zip, which helps prevent water from entering at the collar. This closure system completely covers the neck.
Advantages for the surfer : A warmer and more comfortable wetsuit.
