Description
Not derived from the petrochemical industry, it is made from rocks composed of sediments (mineral calcite and fossil materials) and consists of 3 layers of 1mm (100% West Gen 3 Ultraspan) for maximum flexibility and comfort.
- Back zip closure system.
-
Its inner and outer construction is cut with scraps from nano bamboo to give the suit extreme thermal insulation.
- GBS seams, glued and blind stitched (sealed).
- Waterlock system promotes water drainage.
- Donut Wrist Cuffs system at the wrists for better sealing.
GEN-3 ULTRASPAN
Ultraspan is a state-of-the-art nylon laminated to neoprene.
Gen-3 Ultraspan offers 300% elasticity to the suit.
Benefits for the surfer: + warmth, + comfort, + flexibility.
West Red Poly Pro is a thermal insulation jersey that helps maintain body temperature.
Benefits for the surfer: Warmer wetsuit.
Thermal Mesh works in the same way a solar panel absorbs heat from the sun. Minimal water absorption reduces wind chill. These combined elements add better thermal properties to West wetsuits.
Benefits for the surfer: Increased warmth, lighter wetsuit due to less water absorption.
S-Foam is a closed-cell neoprene that is 20% lighter than classic foam, and is made from limestone. This offers superior elasticity compared to other neoprenes.
Benefits for the surfer: Lighter and warmer wetsuit.
KNEE PADS
Compared to other neoprenes, K (Knee) foam has a much higher performance density. West uses K Foam for all knee pads due to its durability and high resistance. There are 3 types of K-Foam: latex, plasma and P.U.
WEST Melco tape is applied to all sensitive points of the suit, at the seams and zipper. These reinforcements ensure greater longevity for the suits.
Benefits for the surfer: More reliable and durable wetsuit.
The West Batwing is a 0.5mm thick Ultraspan gusset (pocket) that prevents water from entering through the back zip seams. The Batwing thus helps keep the surfer warm.
Benefits for the surfer: No water entry at the back zip, making the suit warmer and more comfortable.
GBS SEAMS
Glued and Blind Stitched seams, generally called GBS seams, are waterproof. West uses Japanese glue, which ensures superior bonding quality.
Benefit for the surfer: A quality waterproof seam that prevents water from entering, keeping the surfer warm.
